Knitting circle plus beer equals happiness.

My scarf is getting longer, Elizabeth is showing me up with elaborate cabled gloves (although currently glove, singular, and has been so for ages :-p ), beer is in the fridge, chinese food is being delivered, and dvds will be watched.  A good spontaneous evening, all around. So grandma, how am I doing?!

I knit now

At Christmas I learned how to knit: my neighbor Barbara valiantly showed me the basics, and equipped me with way-nicer yarn than she should have (oh so cozy). I departed on my first project: a rectangle. Then, when complete, I put the ends together to make a tube which I dubbed "leg warmer." Then, a few weeks later, I got tired of wearing just one leg warmer-- the fashion was NOT catching on-- and a second one was made to complete the set.

Next up, actually trying to follow a pattern. I am not very good at obedience to instructions, but I am good at counting, and you-tubing when help is needed, so I figured I might as well try to learn provisional cast on, ribbing, cables, grafting, and stitch counting all at once. I found a gorgeous pattern for an infinity scarf online, and off I went.

The best part is, my grandma joined in the fun. She is currently making an identical one, which will no doubt have far fewer mistakes than mine will, and unlike me she will probably be super generous and give the final product to my mom. Who is excited to receive it I think :)

Now I just need to keep count... row... um.... which row am I on again?
